Nestled amongst tranquil and unspoilt rural countryside, La Vigne Vierge is a beautiful 18th Century stone property situated in the Lot region of South West France near the small village of Montgesty.
La Vigne Vierge is located just a short drive from the villages of Catus (5 km) and Cazals (10 km). Both villages offer similar basic amenities including a bakery, a butchers, a pharmacy, a small supermarket, cafes and restaurants. They also each have weekly markets selling a lovely selection of fresh local produce.
The wider Lot region has an array of attractions including the charming medieval city of Cahors, numerous pretty villages, castles, vineyards, gardens, rivers, caves and fantastic walking trails. We are also situated only a short distance from the Dordogne region where you will find many more sites of interest to visit. We know the area very well and will be delighted to offer recommendations to help ensure that you make the most of your stay in this lovely region of France.

Cahors is a charming medieval city with lots to discover. The famous Pont Valentré is a 14th Century fortified stone arch bridge. The medieval quarter of the city is beautiful. Wandering around the old streets you will find the lovely cathedral, market (Wed and Sat mornings), shops, cafes and restaurants. Every July Cahors also hosts a fantastic Blues Festival - well worth a visit if you book in advance!
The region has many beautiful villages. St-Cirq-Lapopie, Rocamadour, Domme, Puy-L'Eveque, Montpazier and Monflanquin to name just a few.
There are several beautiful gardens in the local area. These include Les Jardins de Marqueyssac and Jardins d'Eyrignac.
Cahors is famous for its Malbec wine. Many of the vineyards will welcome you for tours and tastings.
The Lot is a truly unspoilt region of France and, as a result, the wildlife is abundant. Discover wild flowers, butterflies, birds and other flora and fauna. The local footpaths and walking tracks are almost unlimited and we are happy to provide you with maps and recommend routes for you to follow.
The Lot and the Dordogne regions are awash with beautiful Chateaux; Biron, Bonaguil, Beynac, Castelnaud, Milandes and many more.
There are a number of fantastic cave complexes (grottes) in the Lot and Dordogne regions. These include the world renowned Peche Merle, Lascaux and Gouffre de Padirac. All are well worth booking in advance!
France is well known for its fabulous markets. This area has a wide choice of markets for you to visit by day or night.
